Jenny Bratty
Jenny is a Registered Nurse who trained at Auckland Hospital in 1980.
Jenny's parents are in their 80s and beginning to need help to stay living in their own home; they enjoy living on a large section edged with native bush.
To ensure her parents could stay living as independently as possible, Jenny and her brothers had to solve a number of new challenges such as easier access to the house and help with gardening.
Being a health advocate has been an important role Jenny has stepped into for her parents. There have been times that she has facilitated admission to hospital, provided care and support to her parents in hospital and on one occasion speak up when she felt that a doctor discharged her mother from hospital too early.
Jenny's experiences with her own parents combined with the skills and knowledge gained from her varied career, including her nursing background, mean that she can expertly meet the needs of clients.
